We are looking for a motivated and flexible Band 3 HealthCare Assistant to join our Outpatient team.
We work across multiple Outpatients areas to deliver a seven-day service. You will also be required to support and manage trauma and orthopaedics clinics based at our specialist emergency hospital. A car driver is essential as you will be required to be flexible to the needs of the service and work within Outpatient departments at our brand new modern outpatient clinics at Morpeth View and Wansbeck Hospital.

You must have outpatient or clinic experience or experience in a hospital background. NVQ level 3 is essential or relevant outpatient experience, and you must have phlebotomy skills.
Main duties of the job
1. Work with patients in a variety of outpatient settings.
2. Assist with patient pathways across multiple nursing areas delivering outpatient care under supervision of RGN nursing team.
3. Manage own clinic workload under non-direct supervision from RGN.
4. Travel across multiple sites to support the service need.
5. Assist qualified nursing staff in the delivery of high-quality direct and indirect patient care.
6. Provide assistance and support to patients, carers, and the multi-disciplinary team.
7. Maintain high clinical standards to help maintain a clean and safe ward environment.

Job responsibilities
1. Work as part of a large team and help maintain high standards within the outpatient setting.
2. Provide and receive routine information orally, in writing, or electronically to inform work colleagues, patients, clients, carers, the public, or other external contacts.
3. Able to use electronic systems such as PAS, ICE.
4. Venepuncture.
5. Complete IR1 forms and provide statements as appropriate.
6. Able to contribute to ward meetings.
7. Alert qualified staff to changes in a patient's condition.
8. Complete relevant nursing documentation specific to clinical area.
9. Must demonstrate the English language proficiency level required for this post.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Knowledge of care and related procedures, clinical observations, relevant legislation.
* Completion of a competency-based programme or equivalent relevant experience.
* Level 3 qualification in a healthcare-related subject or a portfolio of equivalent demonstrable experience.
* Previous care experience in a health or social care setting.
* Evidence of completed competencies aligned to the service area.
