Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant: Offer personalised 1:1 and small group support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Help implement customised learning approaches that cater to each student’s unique requirements. Foster student confidence, independence, and active participation in classroom activities. Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and wider support teams to deliver effective learning plans. Assist in maintaining a calm, inclusive classroom by supporting positive behaviour strategies. Provide guidance with emotional regulation, communication development, and social interaction skills. Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant (TA): Previous experience working with SEN students or relevant training is preferred. A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment. Understanding of various SEN conditions. Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
