Production Manager
Annual Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 Location: Office-based Job Type: Full-timeJoin a dynamic team that designs specialist downhole logging and well-intervention instrumentation for various energy sectors. As a Production Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our complex range of electronic and mechanical products are delivered on time and within budget. This position offers the opportunity to work in a small team environment within a growing business with a global client base.
Day-to-day of the role:
Plan production schedules to ensure availability and delivery of parts in line with forecasts and customer demands. Source reliable suppliers to secure best value terms and implement procurement strategies that ensure quality and cost-effectiveness. Develop manufacturing processes for new products. Purchase and manage stock inventory of electronic and mechanical components. Determine quality control standards. Manage in-house technicians and subcontract resources as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of proven operational experience in an engineering environment, with direct production management responsibility preferred. Experience in production planning and resource management. Purchasing of complex machined parts from subcontract suppliers and electronic components/assemblies from contract electronics manufacturers. Familiarity with engineering change management and developing initiatives to improve business performance, including quality targets. Conformance to health and safety regulations and QMS such as ISO 9000. HND or BEng in Engineering. Fully versed in the use of ERP / MRP systems. Strong technical knowledge and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with attention to detail. Knowledge of manufacturing documentation (BOMs, engineering drawings, and assembly instructions). Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask. Highly motivated with an ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment. Strong interpersonal skills to manage staff and external relationships. Proficiency in MS Office. Ability to communicate effectively, with a strong command of written and spoken English.
