About the role
As part of the Health Procurement Team for External Manufacturing, the Senior Buyer will be responsible for a portfolio of External Manufacturing Suppliers in EU. The role is to develop and implement sourcing strategies as well as create strong relationships with different internal stakeholders in Marketing and R&D to efficiently support and drive the innovation pipeline. The position will also be responsible for managing high profile projects to support business continuity strategies and cost reduction programs as well as the management of COGS and payment terms in support of net revenue, gross margin, and NWC improvement. This role can be based in the UK or Amsterdam.
Your responsibilities
In summary, you'll:
* Directly responsible for a group of External Manufacturers in EU, involving following activities:
o Supplier relationship management
o Responsible for negotiating contractual agreements with support from the Legal department
o On-going price negotiations, working closely with Global Procurement to understand feedstock trends and risks (RM, PM, Energy, Freight etc.)
* Creation and implementation of sourcing strategies. Develop in-depth knowledge of the commodity, market, and supply base. Define a strategy to meet Reckitt’s business needs, gain stakeholder support and management approval for these strategies and then lead the implementation.
* Ownership and accountability for financial performance of portfolio. Price change management, monthly Purchase Price Variance (PPV) reporting and financial / budget cycles.
* Strong stakeholder management, both with local and regional teams across functions such as Supply, Finance, R&D, Quality and Marketing.
* Procurement lead for all Health EU Innovation pipeline projects with external suppliers. Launches on time and at competitive prices whilst ensuring compliance to Global Procurement SOPs and processes.
* Supports Productivity and Transformation initiatives to deliver GM improvement through strategic projects and COGs optimisation. Conduct benchmark studies with Reckitt factories and support with “make or buy” analysis.
* Management of small portfolio of NPS spend for local activities, including embellishment.
The experience we're looking for
* Relevant Procurement experience in a fast-paced environment – previous experience with External Manufacturing is a plus
* Ability to work in a truly global organization. Proven experience in working in a fast-moving and results-driven environment which demands to work under continuous pressure
* Strong negotiating, influencing and effective communication skills
* Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
* Must have the ability to lead cross functionally with Marketing, Supply, R&D and Finance to promote change, drive efficiencies and make cost savings impact on the business
* Demonstrated success in completing business improvement projects such as cost reductions and business simplification processes
