Payroll Administrator – Part Time (Practice)

McKinty Associates are pleased to be working on behalf of an established Accountancy Practice with an immediate need for an experienced Payroll professional to join their team on a Part-Time basis.
The ideal candidate will have experience of running weekly and monthly payrolls for a range of clients ensuring that processes and systems are completed for all aspects our of client’s payroll services function within the required timescales.
Role overview:
1. Liaise with clients for payrolls.
2. Update spreadsheet of payrolls to be processed, update individual client’s spreadsheet with all new payroll information.
3. Enter any new employees onto spreadsheet relevant to client / sage payroll.
4. Check HMRC for any student loans or tax code changes.
5. Process Payrolls to deadline required by client.
6. Calculate employee’s salaries as per instruction from clients e.g., sick pay holidays, SMP etc.
7. Take client phone calls ref payroll queries.
8. Create new PAYE schemes as and when required, and if needed set up new payroll.
9. Calls to HMRC for any PAYE queries on behalf of clients.
10. Send Copy payslips, P45’s P60’s as and when requested.
11. Process year ends.
12. Email/upload P60’s at year ends.
13. Set up client’s salary payments in client banks.
14. Pension contributions from employees and employers uploaded to the client’s respective pension scheme.
15. Complete pension regulator declaration of compliance for clients when due prior to re-enrolment date.
16. Ad hoc duties as and when required.
Essential eligibility criteria:
17. Previous experience in an accountancy practice/payroll bureau is essential.
18. Previous experience of payroll processing in a computerised payroll environment.
19. Hold a recognised qualification in either Payroll or Accounting.
20. Good working knowledge of practical payroll matters and current legislation.
21. Excellent IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel and Word.
22. Attention to detail.
23. Good problem-solving and planning skills.
24. An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
