Are you a compassionate and resilient Mental Health Support Worker looking for a rewarding role supporting young people? If so, GSL Education are seeking a Mental Health Support Worker to join a school in Boscombe on either a full-time or part-time basis, with an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide essential support to students struggling with their mental health and well-being.
About the Role: As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a key role in offering emotional and behavioural support to students facing mental health challenges. You will work closely with teachers, SEN teams, and external professionals to provide tailored support that enables students to engage positively in their learning and school life.
Mental Health Support Worker Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with mental health needs.
* Help students develop coping strategies to manage their emotions and behaviour.
* Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement individual support plans.
* Create a safe and supportive environment where students feel valued and understood.
* Assist in de-escalating challenging situations and promoting positive mental well-being.
* Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to staff and parents.
Mental Health Support Worker Requirements:
* Previous experience working with individuals with mental health needs, preferably in an educational or support setting.
* A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to working with young people.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and mental health support strategies is desirable.
* Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
