Job Title: Senior Social Media Specialist - 18 month fixed term contract

Overview of Department
The Social Media Team owns and develops the firm’s social media presence, making use of both paid and organic strategies in order to support Baillie Gifford’s brand and marketing goals. Collaborating closely with a variety of stakeholders across the firm, the team develops strategic content and ensures its effective distribution across the most suitable platforms to maximise growth, reach and engagement.
Purpose of Role
As a Senior Social Media Specialist you will manage and develop the firm's social media presence. This includes actively managing the firm's channels, content governance and creation, content planning and the ability to interpret and report on relevant analytics for each of our social media channels.
Team members very occasionally may have to be on call over weekends or evenings to undertake social media monitoring and escalation.
Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end organic and paid social media campaigns, covering strategy, copywriting, creative design, extensive targeting, budget management, optimisation, and analytics.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to ensure effective planning and execution of social media campaigns, in line with broader marketing activities.
* Leverage data from our analytics suite to enhance our social presence through social listening and trend/sentiment analysis.
* Increase lead generation, brand awareness, website conversions, and engagement through targeted social media strategies.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders to align social media initiatives with Baillie Gifford’s marketing objectives, providing strategic guidance, training, and presentations.
* Grow employee engagement and targeted executive voice initiatives.
* Stay updated on social media trends, channels, and best practices to continuously improve our social media efforts and overall marketing involvement.
* Ensure compliance with financial promotion, consumer duty, and other relevant legislation, consulting with specialist teams as needed.
* Monitor daily and event-specific social media activity, working with teams and agencies to provide updates and advising client-facing teams on communication strategies.
Your knowledge and experience:
* Digital marketing industry experience essential
* Experience in a similar role within a regulated industry, with a solid grasp of compliance and consumer duty requirements.
* Extensive expertise in managing both paid and organic social media campaigns, with advanced targeting knowledge specific to LinkedIn.
* Demonstrated success in crafting and executing marketing strategies that enhance lead generation, brand awareness, website conversions, and engagement.
* Proven ability in launching global social media channels, devising growth strategies, and building diverse audiences.
* Strong analytical skills to interpret data, generate actionable insights, and present findings to stakeholders.
* Proficiency in creating compelling video content and creative assets tailored for social media platforms.
* Skilled in copywriting for various audience segments, ad formats, and social media channels.
* Excellent performance analysis and project management capabilities.
