Who we are looking for:
We're looking for an ambitious Operational Finance Business Partner who will report into the Head of Commercial Finance, playing a pivotal role in supporting the European Sales Operations Director & Director of Logistics & Warehousing with financial insights, analysis & recommendations. Sitting on the Senior Leadership Team for European Operations, you will have responsibility for the overall EBITDA financial performance of the European sites. You will have excellent communication skills with all levels of staff, often having to work with various departments to help them plan and manage their own budgets and costs. You will work closely with the European Sales FBP to ensure that the 2 focus areas of the business fit seamlessly together, working in tandem to deliver the best financial performance for Brand Addition.
Responsibilities:
* Commercial Finance - Full responsibility for the operational financial performance in the European division. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance but with a close working relationship with the Sales Operations Director & Director of Logistics & Warehousing, you will be responsible for reporting the EBITDA performance of the European division. With a strong focus on supply chain finance, you will analyse operational performance, identify trends, and offer actionable insights to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness. You will also have a close eye on optimum working capital for your portfolio. You will need to feel confident challenging the business on areas of financial performance and be able to prepare financial models and business cases to support decision making processes.
* Forecasting - Full responsibility for the monthly, quarterly & full year EBITDA forecasting for the European division. Working closely with the Sales FBP, you will need to ensure you have your arms around all operational costs of the business, and that they are in line with the latest sales & margin expectations. It is important that you use your business acumen to get the right balance of risk & opportunity within your numbers, as well as reviewing trends vs optimism. You will need to collaborate with operational teams to review and challenge financial assumptions & projections of operational goals.
* Reporting - Whilst the monthly results are pulled together by the management accountants within another part of the finance team, you will have a close relationship with this team to ensure that the reporting of financial performance below gross margin is meaningful and accurate, as well as collaborating with the Sales FBP on supply chain factors that impact sales & margin. Monthly commentary is vital to report the relevant financial performance up to the Operating Board. This includes presenting the information with the European Sales Operations Director to the Group MD, Group FD & Head of Commercial during monthly meetings, and separately in any Operations SLT updates.
* Leadership & Stakeholder Management- As the finance lead on European Sales Operations, you will need to show drive, determination and a "clear headed but confident" approach. You will be responsible for ensuring your peers receive clear, meaningful finance information and of course, direction on finance matters. It's important that you feel confident communicating complex finance concepts in a clear & concise manner to senior non-financial stakeholders.
* Team Management - You will have the dotted line support of a senior management accountant, who is in place to support both the Sales FBP and the Operational FBP. In addition, our wider finance team will need you to support them in their career at Brand Addition, ensuring they have the right tools & training to do their job and progress - we believe succession planning is key to team stability. It's important that each team is a smooth working cog within the wider finance team and the wider business, which comes from excellent team management.
