A Definitive Map Officer is required to work within the Countryside and Rights of Way Service to lead on Definitive Map related work.
Candidates must have knowledge and experience of working with relevant legislation relating to maintaining and updating the legal record of public rights of way, knowledge of the De-regulation Act and its implications for this work area, experience of determining route status through archive research and evaluation of user evidence for public rights of way and knowledge and understanding of the relevant parts of the CROW Act 2000 which relate to of cut-off date for “lost ways” and its implications for Bradford’s rights of way. Experience of using GIS mapping processes is also desirable.
Whilst essentially office/home- based, the post holder will also be required to travel to other offices and venues and make occasional site visits, often unaccompanied.
