With a mission to provide quality, safe, affordable housing that builds great foundations for our customers, our Floating Support (Mental Health) team are critical to providing a comprehensive range of support services to customers with profound and enduring Mental Health issues (they may also have additional learning needs and/or dual diagnosis). Further key responsibilities are listed below:
* Maximising the independence of people who require support and enabling real choices in how they lead their lives.
* Providing housing related support such as supporting people to access their benefits entitlements; pay their rent and household bills; secure appropriate accommodation; access employment, volunteering and training opportunities.
* Assisting people with shopping, supervising medication, and prompting clients to do domestic chores. Social inclusion support to build confidence in accessing the community.
* Maintaining accurate records of support provided, maintaining risk assessment and support plans.
* Working with partner agencies such as Peterborough City Council, NHS services and Cambridgeshire County Council.
To be successful in application for our Reserve Community Outreach Support Worker role, you will ideally have worked in a similar role supporting individuals with enduring mental health needs, although we’re open to candidates who’re interested in pursuing a new career within a Mental Health environment. Having some knowledge and understanding of Mental Health and the issues around it would be beneficial. You’ll be comfortable in challenging negative beliefs and provide positive behaviour support, and always demonstrate a supportive and caring nature. It’s crucial to display good communication and listening skills, with a strong ability to provide advice to help our customers.
Our Reserve Community Outreach Support Worker is a Zero Hour Contract, community-based position across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire. We are seeking applicants to help cover shifts on a flexible basis Monday to Sunday from 8.30am – 8.30pm (including Bank Holidays) to support our customers. We are happy to discuss specific hours at interview stage.
