Job description Youth Support Worker About Kelwel Care: Please note the work pattern is 2 days on 4 days off. We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Support Workers to join our team Role Overview: As a Youth Support Worker you will be working with vulnerable young people with potentially emotional and behavioural disorders. The role is primarily that of a care worker and you will be part of a team that provides a safe and often life changing experience for young people. Key Responsibilities: Care: Providing care and ensuring the safety and welfare of vulnerable young people, reporting any abuse or neglect. Mentorship: Act as a positive role model, offering guidance and support to help young people navigate challenges. Supervision and Safety: Maintain a safe environment by following all safety protocols and Manage challenging behaviour with appropriate strategies Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members and external partners to ensure activities align with the young persons needs and care plans. Documentation: Keep accurate records of activity participation, progress, and feedback to continuously improve the program. Daily Operations: Assisting with daily tasks, including meal preparation, laundry. Life skills : Teaching essential life skills and supporting education Qualifications and Skills: Education: Relevant qualifications in youth work, physical education, social care, or a related field are preferred. Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and motivate young people. Attributes: A proactive and energetic attitude, with a passion for working with young people. A commitment to being a positive influence and role model.
