Salary: up to £50,993.64 per annum
Working pattern: 6am – 6pm and 6pm – 6am (Four on, four off rotation)
In this role, you will form part of our engineering team onsite contributing to the internal & external preventative, reactive, and corrective maintenance work on our plant equipment. Our goal as a team is to continuously improve machine reliability, availability & capacity to manufacturing standards.
Increase the site operational effectiveness, improve project delivery, mean time between failure and downtime reduction, and manage and implement improvement plans, driving Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) ensuring that Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
Safety is at the heart of everything we do, and this role is no different. You will liaise with the SHEQ team to resolve H&S, environmental, internal audits, GMP, COSHH, and ISO quality issues. You’ll ensure all compliance checks are complete and correctly filed, ensuring our site is operating in full compliance with UK regulations and Global manufacturing standards.
Your key responsibilities:
1. Providing both a reactive and proactive, highly skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure.
2. Liaising with external contractors for reactive maintenance and scheduling planned service maintenance. Request & check RAMS, induct personnel, provide permits to work, and oversee contractor works onsite to ensure work is carried out safely.
3. Following and completing (signing off) planned maintenance (PMs, RMs & CMs) via a Computer Maintenance Management System and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out.
4. Actively participating in projects, continuous improvement, and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices, and processes.
5. Assisting in the administration of the CMMS (Frontline) to ensure its accuracy at all times. Frontline to be used for all maintenance and stock activities.
Essential skills for this role:
1. Multi-skilled maintenance engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) qualifications.
2. IOSH - Managing Safely.
3. Previous maintenance experience in a heavy industrial or waste environment.
4. Familiarity and experience with continuous improvement (CI) – Lean, Kan Ban, OEE, TOC, and other activities.
5. Knowledge of various mechanical drive arrangements, including simplex, duplex, chain, belt, gearboxes, and transmissions.
