Certification and Authorisation Manager

Salary: £60K-£65K + Benefits (Dependent on Experience)

Could you be the full-time Certification and Authorisation Manager in Derby we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your testing expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to the Head of Authorisation UK, and work alongside other members of the Rolling Stock team. The role of Certification & Authorisation Manager will be to define the Certification & Authorisation strategy of the vehicle(s), including budget and planning (in consistency with the project planning) through the development of the Certification & Authorisation management plan during tender and project execution phase until the end of the warranty phase.
We’ll look to you to:
* Be a member of the project core team and actively contribute to deliverables for other functions
* Lead the complete Certification & Authorisation process up to the reception of the regulatory vehicle type certification, vehicle type authorisation and/or vehicle authorisation for placing on the market
* Define Certification & Authorisation KPIs and report on the activities progress
* Obtain the necessary authorisation to run tests on open tracks/public network
* Manage tender/project regulations requirements baseline (e.g. TSIs, National Rules)
* Manage Certification engineer(s) and subcontractor(s)
* Conduct with all project members, especially the Train Performance Manager, the Train Validation Engineer as well as Subsystems managers, the proper identification, understanding and validation of regulatory requirements
* Actively participate in the selection process of independent assessors
* Provide Certification & Authorisation expertise within Alstom organisation
* Develop Alstom leadership in Certification & Authorisation with other sites

* Masters Degree (Engineering, Physical Sciences, others)
* Experience in engineering projects
* Experience in leadership position
* High degree of accuracy, clear communication style
* Good experience with MS Office, Analysis/KPI preparation
* General knowledge of rail vehicles
* General knowledge of EU authorisation process
* General knowledge of functional safety and validation
* General knowledge of standards and regulations
* Certification processes (railways, automotive, aerospace)
* Project or Quality management
