Freight Account Manager Overview
My client is an international logistics company based in West Yorkshire, established in 2010 with a turnover of £32 million. They are looking for an experienced inside sales and account manager to grow, develop, and join their great team. The ideal candidate will create a long-term relationship with their customers and oversee a portfolio of assigned customers while developing new business from existing clients.
Freight Account Manager Responsibilities
1. Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer sales matters
2. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
3. Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximise profits
4. Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts
5. Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
6. Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement
7. Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g., quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
8. Prepare reports on account status
9. Collaborate with the sales team to identify and grow opportunities within a territory
10. Co-ordinate with our overseas partners
Freight Account Manager Experience
1. Minimum 2 years' experience working in the freight forwarding industry specifically sea and air (import and export)
2. Solid experience with CRM software / Freight Forwarding software
3. Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs
4. Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
5. Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills
7. Must be able to present on video quotations to clients daily
