The Role :
We are partnered with a visionary Secondary School located just outside Cambridge and are seeking a capable Head for Art and Design Technology (DT) to work with a team of professional educators.
As the Head of Art and DT, you will:
1. Lead and Inspire: Oversee the Art and DT departments, providing visionary leadership to drive the strategic development and enhancement of both subjects.
2. Develop Curriculum: Design and implement an engaging and comprehensive curriculum that challenges and inspires students at all levels.
3. Foster Creativity: Create an environment that encourages creativity and innovation, helping students to explore and develop their artistic and technical skills.
4. Manage Staff: Lead, support, and mentor a dedicated team of teachers, promoting professional development and collaboration within the departments.
5. Enhance Facilities: Ensure that Art and DT facilities are well-equipped and maintained, utilising resources effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
6. Promote Excellence: Monitor and evaluate student performance and departmental outcomes, ensuring high standards and continuous improvement.
7. Engage with the Community: Work closely with parents, local businesses, and external partners to promote the departments and celebrate student achievements.
This is a permanent position starting from January 2025, or potentially earlier if you are available.

What We're Looking For:
8. A degree in Art, Design Technology, or a related field, with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
9. Eligibility to work in the UK.
10. Significant experience in teaching Art and DT, with a track record of successful leadership and departmental management.
11. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students alike.
12. A passion for the arts and design with innovative ideas to enhance the curriculum and departmental initiatives.
13. Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
