The client Our client is a well established personal injury firm that continues to go from strength to strength as they prepare to enter a strong phase of growth throughout the North of England. They are currently recruiting for an Advocate Solicitor or Barrister to join their in-house advocacy department. Civil Higher Rights of Audience is preferred but not essential. Your new role This Advocate Solicitor / Barrister position will see you handle the firm's advocacy requirements across all legal departments. This will include CMCs, CCMCs, Stage 3 hearings, infant approval hearings and direction hearings. You will be required to attend courts across Merseyside, Cheshire and Manchester. There is a degree of mentoring involved in this position as you will provide advocacy training to trainee solicitors. You will be responsible for developing processes and documentation for the case management system and identifying instances where it may be more advantageous to settle or proceed to final hearing. There is a high level of remote role with the exception of attending court. What you'll need to succeed You should be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with strong litigation and advocacy skills. Civil Higher Rights of Audience is preferable, but not essential. You must have excellent knowledge of CPR, legislation and relevant case law. You should be looking to progress your career in a well-run firm. MOJ experience is essential. Candidates from both claimant and defendant backgrounds will be considered.
