Required for September 2025
TLR 2C - £3,391
MPS/UPS Part time or Full time
If you want to work in a school that values the teaching of Economics as a very popular A level subject, as well as looking after their staff, come and look at Davenant. We are looking to appoint someone to lead the Economics department from September 2025. This can be a full time or part time post to suit the candidate.
The ability to teach A Level Economics is essential. There are excellent opportunities for personal development as part of our CPD and training programme as well as mentoring within our large ITT consortium.
Davenant is a high achieving school with a very strong Sixth Form provision. Economics is a very popular subject with many students taking it further at university or through apprenticeships in the city. We were recognised by Ofsted as a good school with an outstanding Sixth Form and again this year, one of the highest achieving schools in Essex.
Davenant is also a Christian Ecumenical school that was founded in 1680. It achieves outstanding examination results, has a strong focus on extra-curricular provision and seeks to nurture “mind, body and spirit”. We are a supportive school with a staff welfare programme that reflects our care.
We are situated close to the M25 and can easily be reached either from London or from the Essex/Herts countryside.
If you wish to visit the school or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Davenant is committed to safeguarding and protecting the children and young people that we work with. As such, all posts are subject to a safer recruitment process, including the disclosure of criminal records and vetting checks. We ensure that we have a range of policies and procedures in place, which promote safeguarding and safer working practice across the school.
A letter of application, along with an application form, must be submitted to the Headteacher’s P.A., Marylyn Greengrass: Marylyn.greengrass@davenant.org by the closing date: Monday 20th January.
