Regional Sales Manager – Food Wholesale
Location – Worcester, Gloucester, Bristol, Chepstow, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Ledbury.
Package - £50,000 - £60,000 plus OTE of between £65,000 and £75,000, Car or Car Allowance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, Life Assurance Cover, Discount Scheme, Pension, plus other company benefits.

With a workforce of over 200 and a turnover of more than a £100 million, delivering a wide range of ambient, chilled, and frozen products, meeting the needs of all types of clients—from large-scale food businesses to small, independents.
The Role
As a key leader within the sales team, you will oversee and develop a team of seven external sales representatives within the South Division, covering Birmingham, South Wales, and the Southwest. Your main goal will be to drive business growth, both in terms of turnover and profitability, by providing strategic leadership and guidance. The role involves setting high standards of customer care and fostering a "best in class" service approach within the team. You will focus on building key account relationships, establishing and tracking KPIs, and managing performance. Through regular field visits, meetings, and appraisals, you will strengthen the team’s sales and account management skills and ensure the team is empowered to meet sales and margin targets. This role also requires ongoing strategy development to leverage market opportunities and collaboration with senior leadership to align with company-wide goals.
The Person
To succeed in this role, you’ll have substantial experience in people management, ideally within food wholesale or food manufacturing sectors. With a strong commercial acumen, margin management experience, and analytical skills, you bring the expertise needed to guide a dynamic team. Leadership skills, a background in managing high-performing sales teams, and a proven track record in negotiation are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required, alongside strong networking abilities and a deep understanding of bakery, food service, or food manufacturing operations. Exceptional communication, customer service, and deal-closing skills will enable you to drive results and positively impact the organization. A valid UK driver’s license is required, as this role involves travel within the designated region.
