If you are excited about this mission, it’s a great time to join. What we’re looking for The Senior Service Designer plays a key role in delivering high-quality digital products and services. You’ll help our clients understand their current offerings and how they can be improved. With a deep understanding of HCD activities, you’ll plan programmes of work to create effective end-to-end user experiences. You will work as part of a team to deliver intuitive, effective and innovative digital products and services. You are expert in working both alone and in teams with user researchers, content designers, interaction designers and developers. You are skilled in service mapping and translating that insight into compelling products and services. You are proficient in prototyping and collaborating closely with user researchers. Ideally, you are also proficient in information architecture and conducting user research. You will provide design leadership on Torchbox projects, working in close collaboration with other project leads to direct multidisciplinary teams. You will define and communicate the design vision, bringing clients and teams along on the journey. You will plan research and design activities and ensure user needs are translated into impactful digital solutions, within time and budget constraints. We are looking for individuals with initiative that will help drive and celebrate our HCD expertise on projects, within the team and externally. Role requirements Must have Senior-level service design practitioner experience, with demonstrable skills across journey mapping, service blueprinting, workshopping, ideation, prototyping, translating user insight into design decisions and bringing others along on the journey. Experience working in multi-disciplinary, agile teams within an agency environment. A background working in user-centred discovery, design and delivery teams. A strong understanding of usability and accessibility and their application in service design. Leadership and mentoring skills, including setting vision and priorities, planning activities to achieve desired outcomes, and mentoring more junior members of staff. Strong written, verbal and visual communication skills, that enhance clarity, build influence and foster client engagement. There is an additional profit share scheme. The application process The closing date for this role is Sunday 12th January 2025. The application process will consist of 3 stages, these will be: Submit your CV, a covering letter and a portfolio / case studies demonstrating your expertise 30-minute screening interview, held remotely. We will ask you about your background and interest in the role and you’ll get a chance to learn more about Torchbox. A 90-minute final stage interview, held remotely, with 2-4 members of the Torchbox team. We will delve more into your experience and ask you to spend around 20 minutes presenting two to four examples of your service design work. We’d also like you to complete a short service design whiteboard task. There will be time for you to ask questions.
