Purpose
The Field Service Engineer will provide technical service and support to Solus Scientific customers on all Solus DS2 diagnostic instrumentation across UK.
This is a field-based role so candidates based in central England would be ideally suited to cover the territory
Responsibilities
* Provide remote technical support, including troubleshooting to the Solus customer base.
* Provide technical onsite support, breakdown and preventative maintenance to Solus customer base.
* Carry out company related tasks requested by the senior engineer or senior management.
* Install and relocate diagnostic instrumentation when required.
* Upgrade instrument software, firmware and hardware when required.
* Maintain and audit personal stock levels and perform month end department stock control.
* Attend training courses, both in-house and at manufacturer sites.
* Perform module repairs in the Solus workshop or arrange for repair with manufacture.
* Check and commission new and reconditioned DS2’s for shipment.
* Service department travel is planned to be effective in both service and cost to company
* As a key member of staff, you have general corporate governance responsibilities over the company’s affairs and protocols as detailed in the company handbook and employment contract
* All Service department work is carried out in accordance with our ISO 9001 quality system.
Basic Qualifications
* HND or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or a Biotechnology discipline
* Full UK Driving License
