Main duties of the job
As a Workforce Wellbeing and Accessibility Advisor, you will play a crucial role in creating an inclusive and supportive workplace for colleagues with long-term health conditions, disabilities, or neurodivergence. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Individual Consultations: Conducting one-on-one consultations to understand individual needs and challenges.
2. Workplace Assessments: Evaluating work environments to identify potential barriers and recommend necessary adjustments.
3. Reasonable Adjustment Recommendations: Developing tailored recommendations to accommodate individual needs and promote workplace accessibility.
4. Managerial Support: Providing guidance to managers on implementing adjustments and addressing concerns.
5. Ongoing Support: Offering ongoing support to colleagues, monitoring the effectiveness of adjustments, and making necessary modifications.
6. Safeguarding: Prioritising the safety and well-being of colleagues, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.

Essential
1. Level 6 degree in relevant subject
Desirable
1. Post-graduate training and certification, such as: psychosocial interventions, long-term conditions management, influencing behavioural change, stress/anxiety management and reduction, pain management, fatigue management, mental health optimisation, functional/workplace/seating/ergonomic assessments, sensory assessments, musculoskeletal issues including upper limb conditions and communication assessments.
Experience

1. You will have a strong track record of experience in area of practice.
Desirable
1. A working understanding of relevant employment law in an occupational health context e.g. Equality Act 2010 and reasonable adjustment application.
Knowledge
Essential
1. You will have a good understanding of equality issues and how they can affect the workplace.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of: Mental health, psychological problems and what constitutes good mental health and thriving; Interventions for problems with mobility/dexterity, upper-limbs, seating, wheelchair, posture, ergonomic factors and manual handling; Communication assessments; Long-term conditions and ageing; Interventions for sensory deficits including hearing and sight; Risk prevention and assessments, such as stress, manual handling, DSE workstations; Neurodiversity; The social determinants of health and wellbeing; The access to work scheme.
