We are currently looking for a Planning Coordinator to join our friendly team based in Buxton.

Main Responsibilities
In the role of Planning Coordinator you will be responsible for:
1. Acting as the responsible person for planning & fulfilment of mortar products across our national production network.
2. Co-ordinating deliveries, engaging with hauliers and external contractors to ensure the effective shipping of customer orders.
3. Providing a customer first focus whilst optimising profitability and maintaining key systems to achieve this.
4. Supporting local plant management & commercial teams from within the logistics function.
5. Aligning with operational and commercial excellence objectives in delivering profitable material solutions to the customer.
6. Reporting any risk to Health and Safety immediately effectively.
7. Liaising with hauliers on daily safety risks.
8. Planning shipping effectively to ensure compliance with haulier lone working policy and working hours regulations.
9. Liaising with production team to sync production and shipping effectively to ensure production and delivery targets are met.
10. Liaising with production and sales to ensure special delivery requirements are met.
11. Supporting planning supervisor with other reasonable duties, such as reporting and action plans.
12. Building an effective daily shipping plan through liaison with customers and internal teams, Shipping plans to meet cost, service and other targets.
13. Providing cover for other counterparts in other areas to support the operations resilience plan, coordinating vehicle availability, and ensuring all shipping activities are SOX compliant.
14. Inputting accurate data daily to provide KPI visibility to operations, commercial and logistics teams, enabling continuous improvement initiatives to be identified.
15. Developing working relationships with customers to increase flexibility in relation to production and shipping arrangements, ultimately leading to better vehicle utilisation and reduced customer service complaints.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role of Planning Coordinator will have experience of:
1. Driving license (desirable).
2. Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
3. Experience in planning haulage / production / plant outage schedules.
4. Being collaborative and professional – contributing to high team morale, polite and courteous even under pressure; sharing best practice.
5. Being an effective communicator who can adjust communication styles and methods to effectively influence others and subsequently meet targets.
6. Being driven – passionate and able to meet targets without compromising the quality of work; able to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
7. Being resilient – flexible and able to work in a changing environment without losing focus on key goals and targets.
8. Being a logical thinker who is able to think outside the box to come up with solutions to meet and exceed targets and expectations.
