As an Employer Engagement Officer, you will lead efforts to connect employers with local talent, ensuring residents can access quality career opportunities in line with the borough's industrial strategy. Your work will directly support our inclusive economy priorities, with a focus on high potential growth sectors.
We are looking for someone who is a natural communicator, relationship builder, good problem solver and excellent at managing people and performance to achieve goals and targets.
In this role, you will:
:Build and manage relationships with local employers, from small to medium:sized enterprises (SMEs) to large corporations, to develop employment, apprenticeship, and skills opportunities.
:Collaborate with the councils Employment Advisors and partners to ensure residents, particularly those facing barriers to employment, can access sustainable career pathways.
:Facilitate recruitment campaigns by managing vacancy advertisements, screening candidates, organising information days, and matching talent with opportunities.
:Develop partnerships to expand opportunities in STEMMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths, Media, and Medicine) and other strategically important sectors.
:Track and report engagement outcomes, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with the councils goals.
