Hgv class 1 driver

Driver Hire Leeds West are currently working alongside a well known and reputable industry leader of structural steelwork, fabrication and installation who has grown rapidly over the last decade and this expansion has led to an opportunity to recruit a HGV Class 1 Driver to join their team. The ideal candidate should be safety-conscious, physically fit and adaptable to the requirements of the role.


Key Responsibilities

* Safely operate the vehicle to transport steel to and from designated locations.
* Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company driving policies.
* Accurately complete all pre and post trip vehicle inspections
* Complete delivery and collection documentation accurately.
* Assist with loading and unloading vehicles, ensuring that items are handled safely.
* Assist with site clean up, material handling and equipment assembly.
* Follow health and safety procedures and always wear appropriate PPE.


Qualifications and Skills

* Valid HGV Class 1 licence
* CPC
* Digital Tacho
* Physical fitness to handle manual labour tasks.
* Good communication and team work skills.
* Experience of using straps and chains to secure the load.
* Experience of operating plant machinery and FLT is desirable.
