We are seeking a talented individual to join a growing design department, where you will be responsible for creating CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
Your role will involve close collaboration with internal teams and suppliers to optimise designs for manufacturing, meet customer requirements, and drive product innovation.

Your responsibilities as a Mechanical Design Engineer:
* Create CAD models and manufacturing drawings for drivetrain components, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.
* Generate product realisation reports detailing the necessary tooling, materials, and processes for project quoting purposes.
* Collaborate with shop floor colleagues to optimise designs for manufacture and address any manufacturing issues with existing components.
* Work closely with Sales and Development teams to ensure customer design needs are met effectively.
* Store and manage design documents and files using Product Data Management (PDM) software.
* Utilise MRP manufacturing software to create accurate bills of material (BOM).
Your current experience which will help you as a Mechanical Design Engineer:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
* Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD modelling software.
* Strong understanding of machining methods and their limitations to design components for efficient manufacture.
* Working knowledge of automotive drivelines and their component operations. (Desirable)
* Experience in finite element analysis and conducting basic strength checks. (Desirable)
* Understanding of the basics of gear design and manufacturing. (Desirable)
