Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Domestic Abuse Support Worker based in Stockport.
The purpose of this role is to use a person-centred approach to working with victims of domestic abuse and their families. You will work to reduce risk of harm and to develop a personalised safety and support plan with the aim of improving social, physical, emotional, and economic well-being.
This is a full time, 37 hours per week, 4 days per week at home, 1 day a week in an office. Fixed term contract of 6 months role, offering a salary of £25,165.

Main duties and responsibilities
* To work with victims of abuse to assist in managing the demand on the service ensuring that victims of abuse are supported at the earliest opportunity.
* Conduct initial assessments with victims focusing on risk assessment and risk management working towards a reduction in the harm caused to the people we are supporting.
* Liaise with Workers delivering behaviour change intervention with partners or ex-partners to ensure work is coordinated with the safety of the victim always the priority.
* Use digital case management systems to record information from client meetings, contact with professionals, case specific supervision, multi-agency working agreements and reviews of risk and need.
* Ensure individual key performance indicators are met and contribute to the delivery of service key performance indicators.
* Provide high quality reporting as requested by Service Manager to demonstrate the impact of the role through data and case studies.
* Develop relationships with Stockport Domestic Abuse Support staff and the organisations colleagues. Building working relationships with agencies and VCSEs across Stockport to support referrals and to understand the range of support available to clients.
* To advocate on behalf of clients within multi-agency meetings, including Child Protection meetings and professionals’ meetings.
* To support clients to apply for Court Orders where necessary and where appropriate, support them to attend Court for both civil and criminal proceedings.
* Attend weekly triage meetings to engage in case discussion and support demand management.
Person Specification
* Excellent standard of literacy and numeracy and IT competency.
* An understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their families.
* An understanding of safeguarding procedures.
* A sound understanding of risk factors associated to domestic abuse.
* Ability to work with vulnerable people, including men and women who have experienced domestic abuse.
* Knowledge and understanding of the experiences and effects of domestic abuse.
* Experience of working with people who have experienced domestic abuse or other vulnerable adults.
* Skills to manage a demanding workload, prioritise competing demands and work flexibly in line with the needs of the service.
* Building and maintaining trusted and productive working relationships.
* Willingness to travel independently across Stockport to attend meetings and appointments.
