BASIC SALARY: £70,000 – £75,000 – possible flexibility for the right person.

JOB DESCRIPTION / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Sales Director, Senior Sales Manager – Technical Industrial Consumables, Adhesives, Silicones, Coatings, Tapes, Seals and Gaskets to Manufacturing Industry and OEMs
· Reporting to and working closely with the Managing Director this is obviously a very visible and pivotal role in the company, part of the senior leadership team in which you will be tasked with further accelerating growth over the next few years with the full and committed support of the FTSE 100 parent company.
· The role will be split 50/50 between your own sales, business development and account management and managing the sales team comprising four experienced technical field salespeople and one internal sales manager.
· The management element will involve full responsibility for sales team performance including motivating, coaching and developing the team which will include analysing and monitoring activity, general guidance, dual visits i.e. a classic technical field sales management role. Making sure that the team is driving home the company’s solutions and competitive advantages to new and existing customers.
· The sales element of the role will involve a mix of new business and existing account development selling “technical solutions” and “problem solving” for clients, not commodity selling. Promoting the company’s comprehensive and ever expanding range of technical solutions.
· This person will be able to open doors and develop business by getting in front of technical decision makers and asking intelligent and relevant technical questions and building client relationships, using a project pipeline approach. There will be a large database to work from, modern CRM system, pipeline opportunity management system, and liaison with the company’s excellent and experienced internal sales/ customer service team with whom you can work and share information.
· Time will be split fairly evenly between out seeing clients and being in the office.

To be considered for this potentially very rewarding role in terms of remuneration and career progression both company and group wide you will have:
· A proven track record of sales, (new) business development and sales team management for a manufacturer or distributor of technical industrial components or consumables to OEMs.
· The drive and ambition to take on extra responsibility in line with the company’s succession plans, with future potential to be Managing Director.
· Experience motivating, coaching, and developing a team of technical sales personnel in competitive markets and be a great communicator.
· Ideally P and L responsibility.
THE COMPANY:
Established over thirty years my client is a distributor of a very wide range of technical industrial consumables components including industrial silicones, adhesives, encapsulants, sealants, tapes, seals and gaskets representing a range of worldwide manufacturers.
They have unique repack facilities enabling them to deliver bespoke packaging solutions. Their key messages are added value by deep technical knowledge, product customisation, and outstanding customer service.
They have doubled in size in the last four years via organic growth and shrewd acquisition.
In 2021 they were acquired by a very successful and progressive FTSE 100 multinational business who have big plans for the company and will give the backing and support to deliver on those plans.
There are 40 staff in total with 14 in sales and customer services including external sales managers, BDMs and Customer Service Representatives and a marketing and e-Commerce team headed up by the Marketing Manager.
PROSPECTS:
A definite succession plan / path to Managing Directorship and further prospects in a large group.
Though only acquired recently my client is already very visible and prized in the group and as such offers the right candidate the chance to really make a name for themselves.
