Production Manufacturing Manager
Zoom Recruitment are looking for a Factory Manufacturing Manager to join a well-established company in Dartford/Erith.
Job Purpose:
To ensure the company’s products are manufactured and delivered effectively, efficiently, on-time, to specification and in a cost-effective manner. This role will include management responsibility for manufacturing output, buying, factory facilities and Health & Safety. Ensuring that all equipment and machinery is maintained and staff under direct control is trained and proficient within their job role.
Key Tasks:
* Manage the Manufacturing & Warehouse team, including managing, mentoring and developing staff.
* Deliver production projects on-time, in-budget and to-specification.
* Work alongside Projects to deliver best value and service to customers.
* Contribute & implement the company’s strategic plans for manufacturing.
* Contribute to the development of the businesses to deliver stable products & processes.
Specific Tasks:
* Responsible for the day-to-day operation of activities on the workshop floor and warehouse premises.
* Maintain the production schedule keeping updated on a daily basis.
* Ensure correct maintenance of all factory machinery and tools and records.
* Issue instruction to factory staff i.e. manufacturing orders, stores, requisitions.
* Settle factory staff grievances in the first instance.
* Deal with the disciplinary procedure for factory staff.
* Responsible for factory order processing and purchasing are correct and accurate.
* Ensure the company stores are organised and stock rotation is carried out.
* Undertake research in procuring new, cost-effective products for company stores.
* Prepare management reports as and when required.
* Support, maintain & assist in the development of ISO9001 Quality Management System.
Key Skills:
* Experience of manufacturing processes
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Strong experience of supply chain management (including expediting, lead-time reduction, inventory management, packaging & shipping).
* Communication, influencing, negotiating and assertiveness.
* Broad technical skills and knowledge of implementation across a range of industries.
* Decision making, sound business judgement.
* Fast learning and able to manage change.
* Experience of improving ISO 9001 within manufacturing.
* Quality management / delivering Customer requirements.
* Project management.
* Report writing & presentation skills.
Working: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Flexible start times.
