Primary Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Screening Operations function by executing business critical, real-time optimization of the screening solutions. The candidate will develop, test, socialize, and deploy logic to reduce unproductive alert volume as well as supporting strategic initiatives related to the Firm's screening controls. These initiatives include technology and process changes mandated by GFC Senior Management to reduce regulatory non-compliant risk and/or improve process efficiency of existing controls. In particular, the successful candidate will: > Perform ongoing analysis of sample historical production data/alerts to identify and prioritize controls to mitigate generating unproductive alert volumes through suppression > Draft, socialize and deploy suppression rules in Accuity Format > Maintain suppression rule writing procedures > Provide oversight and escalate/resolve issues related to alert review > Manage coordination across teams involved in alert review, including GFC, Technology, and Operations. > Support Product Owner in overseeing day-to-day effort for the Firm's Sanctions and Adverse Media screening controls. > Facilitate the design, development, implementation and enhancements to screening controls > Perform business analysis, including obtaining, defining, analyzing, prioritizing, documenting and communicating business requirements to stakeholders > Participate in regular agile ceremonies as a GFC representative, collaborating with GFC, Operations, Business and Technology teams to ensure successful project execution > Participate in the periodic meetings of the GFC Monitoring Committee, overseeing communication and implementation of changes mandated by the Committee > Work with GFC subject matter experts to determine the impact of regulatory changes and to ensure the GFC Program remains aligned with regulatory requirements Skills Desired > Bachelor degree or above in Law, Risk Management, Business Administration or related disciplines (preferred) > 2 years of professional experience in AML, audit, or Compliance > Advanced proficiency in excel, experience in bank screening systems preferred. > Familiarity with sanctions screening controls environment (preferred) > Familiar with screening solutions and associated products is preferred (DowJones/WorldCheck/LexisNexis) > Strong oral and written communication skills in English > Strong leadership, interpersonal, and relationship management skills > Highly motivated with the ability to multi-task and remain organized in a fast-paced environment Morgan Stanley is an equal opportunities employer. Department Profile Global Financial Crimes (GFC) coordinates day-to-day implementation of the Firm's enterprise-wide financial crime prevention efforts. GFC includes several legal and compliance disciplines and has responsibility for governance, oversight and execution of the Firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Economic Sanctions, Anti-Corruption and Government and Political Activities Compliance programs. GFC also develops and/or assists in the development of appropriate policies and procedures, including those designed to assist the business units to know their clients and conduct appropriate due diligence and to prevent, detect and report potentially suspicious activity. Background on the Team The GFC Monitoring and Screening Controls team is a central program management team of specialists and experts responsible for managing complex, cross-functional initiatives as well as the development, enhancement and governance of technology controls that support the Firm's AML, KYC and Sanctions obligations. The remit of the team includes suspicious activity/AML transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, negative news and politically exposed persons (PEP) screening, customer activity reviews and the Enterprise Customer Risk Ranking (ECRR) program.
