We are looking for an experienced Analyst Programmer to join our IT department on a Fixed Term Contract (18 months) providing analysis, functional and technical specifications, coding and unit testing both for new developments and enhancements. An outstanding RPG programmer, you will be comfortable working in an ERP environment, with extensive CL programming, RPGLE and SQL experience on an IBM-i platform. This position will play a vital role working with internal stakeholders and users across the business to ensure effort is focussed in those areas which best reflects the needs of the business. Principal Responsibilities: • Provide high-quality software solutions. This includes creating functional and technical specifications, coding, and performing unit testing for both new developments and enhancements, as well as addressing bug fixes in existing code. • Support the development of solutions that interface smoothly with external systems, ensuring data flows seamlessly and efficiently. • Collaborate with both business and IT users to ensure a clear understanding of requirements during the analysis and definition phase of project work. • Work closely with the Senior Analyst Programmer to set and achieve personal, departmental, and company objectives. • As part of our team, you'll also provide third-level support for the Service Desk. This includes analysing code to assist in troubleshooting reported problems and bugs in our ERP system, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation for our users. Key Skills/Qualifications • University degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering is essential. • Demonstrated knowledge of coding best practices. • Demonstrated ability to develop big ideas and execute flawlessly against them in a highly collaborative and distributed environment. • Demonstrated ability to design effective business solutions. • Developer skills: RPG, RPGLE, CL, SQL. • Knowledge of using IO programs for file access. • Use of copy books where common functions are invoked within RPG programs. • Strong grasp of O365 functions and toolset. • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with technology team members. • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to create and deliver succinct proposals and presentations. • Strong analytical skills.
