We are looking for a Domestic Abuse Support Worker - Young People (16+), to work across the Gwent area.
This will include projects and groups across Newport, Torfaen, Monmouthshire and Caerphilly.
PLEASE NOTE: This role will include very occasional out of hours working for evening and weekend groups and assistance with the on-call rota (approx. 1 in 8 weeks).

What are the details?
* This is a fixed term role for 2 years - until 31st March 2027
* Full time - 35 hours per week
* Monday to Friday
* 9.30am to 5pm
* Salary: £23,982 per annum
* 25 days holiday (33 with bank holidays) rising to 32 days - Giving a total of 40 days leave per year.
* Employer pension contribution of 8%
* Free in-house wellbeing and counselling support
What will you do?
* Work with existing services that provide housing support to young people.
* Deliver group and 1-2-1 support to those experiencing domestic violence or abuse.
* Help to build knowledge of healthy relationships, coping strategies and resilience.
* Group work will include: New Beginnings, ADAPT, PACCE and bespoke sessions.
* Complete risk assessments and personalised safety / support plans.
* Put safeguarding at the centre of the work you do.
* Provide specialist support alongside the Youth Support Workers.
* Work with outside agencies, make appropriate referrals (multi-agency working).
* Attend meetings.
What do we need?
* This role requires substantial knowledge and experience of domestic abuse support (VAWDASV)
* Your experience can come from working with adults, but Young People support would be a distinct advantage.
* An excellent understanding of safeguarding vulnerable people.
* Knowledge of ACEs and trauma informed practice.
* An IDVA, ISVA or CHIDVA qualification would be desirable.
* Experience using safeguarding procedures (MARAC, DASH RIC, Safe Lives)
* A full drivers licence and access to a vehicle is ESSENTIAL
* DBS on the update service would be an advantage
