Maintenance Engineer - Nelson, Lancashire - Competitive Annual Salary About the role As an integral member of the Maintenance Team, you will maintain our Warehousing and Production site to ensure optimum performance and efficiency. As a part of this role, you will run PPM schedules, respond effectively to all breakdown situations and ensure adequate engineering cover is available during operational hours through being on ‘standby’ for a callout to any maintenance issues. What you will do: Strive for timely and satisfactory completion of all Maintenance requests, prioritising workload appropriately. Conduct routine inspections of machinery, equipment and premises. Conduct general maintenance of both external facilities and all machinery within our Warehouse and Production sites. Ensure that all Engineering stock records are up to date and accurate with adequate spares kept in stock at all times. Complete the PPM schedule for all equipment within our operation in a timely and accurate manner. Service and repair as range of electro mechanical equipment, machinery and systems. Improve operational reliability of all machinery, working with a continuous improvement mindset. Work collaboratively with the Project & Maintenance Manager on all Engineering issues. Be on ‘stand-by’ for a callout to attend site for any maintenance issues that arise outside of normal working hours. Ensure that you have a full understanding of using machinery safely Conduct your role in adherence to SOP’s (standard operating procedures) and safety training Report hazards and near misses to support our commitment to continuously improving H&S throughout Wellocks. Support our ‘audit ready’ approach to maintain BRCGS accreditation and other external audit requirements. Ensure that all health and safety, hygiene, and security standards are maintained to the highest level in your areas of responsibility. What you will need: Level 2 & 3 City & Guilds 2330 qualified or equivalent qualification. 18th Edition IEE Regulation qualified Electrically biased engineer with appropriate qualifications to demonstrate this. Electrical competence in safe diagnosis and repair of faults within motors, control systems and lighting systems. Nationally recognised levels of competence in maintenance machinery such as of Packing Machinery, cold storage facilities, pumping systems, etc. which reflect the requirements of our organisation.
