Group Payroll Implementation Consultant (STR022)

Main Accountabilities:
1. Project Management:
Lead the end-to-end payroll implementation project.
Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets.
Coordinate with internal teams & external vendors ensuring project milestones are met.
2. Implementation and Integration:
Oversee the installation and configuration of the new payroll system.
Conduct system testing and troubleshooting to resolve any issues.
3. Compliance and Risk Management:
Implement controls to minimise risks associated with payroll errors and non-compliance.
4. Training and Support:
Develop and deliver training programs for payroll staff.
Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure smooth operation of the new system.
Create user manuals and documentation both internal and external.
5. Client Communications:
Act as the primary point of contact for all client communications related to the payroll implementation.
Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress and any issues.
Facilitate meetings and workshops with clients to gather requirements and feedback.
Address client concerns and ensure their needs are met throughout the project.
6. Continuous Improvement:
Monitor the performance of the new payroll system post-implementation.
Identify opportunities for further enhancements and optimisations.
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to ensure the payroll system remains current and effective.
Skills/Qualifications:
Extensive experience in payroll processing and compliance, preferably in a managerial or consultant role.
In-depth knowledge of UK payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
Proven record of successfully leading payroll system implementations, including migrating data from legacy systems is desirable.
Familiarity with pension scheme administration and compliance requirements.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in processing complex payroll scenarios.
Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and testing systems.
Excellent organisational and time management.
Experience in developing and delivering training programs, as well as creating documentation and user manuals.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of data protection regulations and confidentiality requirements in handling employee information.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
