A well-established secondary school in Stockport is seeking a versatile and proactive Cover Supervisor & Teaching Assistant to join their team. This dual role provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience, whether you’re an aspiring teacher, a graduate, or someone with previous experience in education.
Responsibilities:
* Cover supervision – Deliver pre-planned lessons and supervise classes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring continuity in students’ learning.
* Classroom support – Work closely with teachers to assist students with their studies, helping them stay engaged and focused.
* Behaviour management – Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment, ensuring school policies are followed.
* One-to-one and small group support – Provide targeted academic and pastoral support for students who require additional guidance.
* Collaboration with staff – Work as part of a dedicated team, supporting teachers and the wider school community.
Minimum Requirements:
* Experience working with young people (in education, youth work, tutoring, coaching, or similar roles).
* Strong communication and classroom management skills.
* Adaptability and confidence to lead a classroom independently.
* A degree or relevant qualification (desirable but not essential).
* A proactive, enthusiastic, and supportive approach to working with students.
