Job Purpose
Evelyn Partners is recruiting an experienced Business Intelligence operative to oversee BI development strategy, including managing the development of a portfolio analytics solution.
We are seeking an experienced and innovative PowerBI Manager to lead our Business Intelligence (BI) development strategy. This role involves managing a team of PowerBI Developers in the future, setting the strategy for the back-end build of all reporting within the company, and providing insightful, accurate, and impactful dashboards and reporting across the business. The ideal candidate will act as a player-coach, mentoring their team while also contributing to the development of BI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a team of PowerBI Developers to support the delivery of Power BI reporting across the business.
* Mentor and provide technical support and knowledge sharing to the wider data and analytics team.
* Oversee and create complex tabular models, including SQL database development to store data in a manageable reporting format.
* Utilise SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) for larger data models, including complex DAX.
* Conduct business analysis and requirements gathering with stakeholders to design the best technical solutions and translate them to the team for development.
* Create automated, sustainable reporting solutions and identify improvements in existing processes to enhance efficiency and tackle technical debt.
* Monitor security in Power BI and incorporate Row Level Security (RLS) into data models.
* Create Power BI Gateways, Workspaces, and Apps, ensuring appropriate access is applied.
* Document processes, database models, and architecture plans.
* Collaborate with different teams across the business to improve data literacy and empower teams with the right tools, reports, and guidance to leverage insights for better-informed decisions.
Qualifications
Key Skills and Experience
* Strong experience with Microsoft Power BI and DAX.
* Proficiency in SQL and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
* Experience in designing and developing complex tabular models.
* Strong business analysis and requirements gathering skills.
* Proven ability to create automated and sustainable reporting solutions.
* Experience in mentoring and managing a team of developers.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Professional Qualifications and Education
* Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate
* Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
* Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
* Any other relevant certifications in data visualization and business intelligence are preferred.
