Outpatient Senior Administrator Cardiac Physiology - Band 3
An exciting opportunity has arisen as a Cardiology Patient Scheduler. The successful candidate will work 22.5 hours a week within the Cardiac Physiology Team in Pilgrim Hospital and provide high quality administration skills. The team requires an enthusiastic, positive and hard-working individual to join. The post holder will be responsible for booking patients for their appointments and providing administrative support to the team. Applicants should be able to demonstrate high quality administrative skills including excellent communication skills, IT skills and the ability to manage and prioritise their workload.

Main duties of the job
* To provide comprehensive administration support by booking patients into our Cardiology department within ULHT and Community Diagnostic Centre.
* Responding to and dealing with queries in a timely manner via different methods of communication such as telephone calls and emails.
* Ensuring that the Cardiology bookings do not breach national waiting time standards.
* Ability to work to short time scales.
* Inputting and maintaining accurate patient data on the Trust's information systems.
* Working autonomously within a team, managing your workload and liaising with the wider admin team.
* Adhering to Trust and Directorate policies and protocols.
* Providing cover for colleagues during annual leave and sickness as required.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE's Grade C and above in Maths and English or equivalent.
* Experience and training to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
* Computer Literacy and Information Technology (CLAIT).
* Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology.
Previous Experience
* Experience of customer care or working in an office environment.
* Experience of using Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
* Knowledge or experience of NHS working.
* Experience of working in a reception area.
* Ability to prioritise and organise own workload.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills, with fluency, clarity and effectiveness at all levels.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Awareness of National and Local Targets including cancer targets.
* Knowledge of hospital and clinical information systems including CareFlow.
