Job Title: Deputy Manager Location: Staffordshire Salary: £35.6k - £37.1k Hours: 9:00 AM 5:00 PM (On-Call Duties Required, 2 or 3 per month) Please Note - These roles could suit a Team Leader or Senior RCW looking to make the step up to Deputy About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team in an Ofsted-registered residential home for children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is a full-time role with standard hours of 9 AM to 5 PM, including on-call duties. The Deputy Manager will be expected to cover shifts in emergency situations only. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Management: Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for the children. Staff Supervision: Assist in the recruitment, training, and supervision of residential staff, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulations. Safeguarding & Compliance: Ensure all policies and procedures align with Ofsted standards, Childrens Homes Regulations, and safeguarding protocols to protect and support the children. Care Planning & Support: Oversee and contribute to the development of personalised care plans, risk assessments, and behavioural support strategies. On-Call Duties: Be available for on-call responsibilities, responding to emergencies and supporting the team as required. Crisis Management: Step in to cover shifts only in emergency situations, maintaining stability within the home. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with local authorities, social workers, families, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the children. Record-Keeping & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation, in line with regulatory requirements. Requirements: Minimum 1 year experience as a Deputy Manager in a residential childrens home. Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and Childrens Homes Regulations. Experience working with children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young Peoples Workforce (or equivalent). Level 5 in Leadership & Management is desirable or willingness to work towards it. Excellent leadership, communication, and crisis management skills.
