Female Support Workers
Location: Bexley, Kent, DA6
Salary: £16.00 per hour for weekday and weekend days, £17.00 per hour for waking nights (Double time for bank holidays)
Contract: Short-term to permanent contracts available
Hours: Shifts are days and waking nights.
Shifts required:
1. Day shifts - 1 weekday and 1 weekend day 7 am-7 pm
2. Waking Night shifts (except Friday nights) - 7 pm-7 am

Our client is recruiting enthusiastic, motivated, and highly skilled support workers to join a fantastic multi-disciplinary team. The support worker team provides 24/7 1:1 care and support to a 12-year-old girl with a brain injury who lives with her family in the Bexley area. She has severe quadriplegic cerebral palsy, no verbal communication, and visual impairment, and she is gastrostomy-fed.
Your role will enable the client to live in the community within her own home, maximising her rehabilitation potential, improving her quality of life, and achieving desired goals. She enjoys listening to music and going into the garden. It is imperative that support workers prioritise the client's health and well-being by following the advice and guidance of the professionals involved in her care.
In the future, as part of your role, you will also be able to take part in her therapeutic activities (as directed and trained by therapists) which will help to promote, improve, and develop your own skills, experience, and knowledge base.

What are we looking for?
Passion and commitment for the role, with an opportunity to get to know the client and make a difference to her daily living through:
1. Engaging and interacting with her, ensuring she is settled and feels safe.
2. Attending to her personal care needs, including washing, dressing, oral care, skin care, and positioning.
3. Administering feeds via her gastrostomy as per her feeding regime.
4. Administering medication as per the MAR chart.
5. Safe manual handling using the ceiling track hoist and other specialist equipment.
6. The ability to bring your own strengths and interests to the team.
7. Flexibility and availability to provide cover for absences on a 4-weekly rolling rota.
8. Ability to communicate effectively, as part of a team and on behalf of the client, who is unable to communicate her needs for herself.
9. Ability to write accurate, clear, and legible care records.
10. Enthusiasm to support the client's participation in therapy and fun-based activities at home.
11. Up-to-date DBS at enhanced level - paid for by the employer if you need to apply.
12. Collaborating with family, reporting any concerns immediately to her mother or to Head First.
