Salary range: £69,111- £73,261 per annum dependent on qualifications and experience
We are looking to appoint a Director of Operations; a new role being created to strengthen leadership of the College and provide more resilience at senior levels.
Reporting to and working closely with the Bursar, you will have responsibility for the work of five College Departments. Key responsibilities of the role involve line management of Heads of Department, collaborative inter-team working, and financial control contributing to high-quality stakeholder experience. The successful applicant will have experience of at least one (and ideally more) of the functions that report into this role. There is no need to have previous experience of working in a College, and the postholder will be provided with a comprehensive induction, including specific training, for example to support your role as College Data Protection Officer. You will be expected to promote health & safety policy and practice and to consider decisions in areas of responsibility from an environmentally sustainable perspective. The ideal candidate will have a track record of excellent management and leadership skills. This role requires the ability to work well within teams, across teams, and to network, so strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, are essential. You will need to demonstrate good attention to detail alongside the ability to have strategic oversight. This is a permanent, full-time (36 hours 40 minutes per week) position, although the demands of this post may involve working outside of and in addition to these hours.

We are looking to appoint an Emma Experience Coordinator who will perform key administrative duties to two newly formed activities, the Emma Experience programme and the College Research Associates Scheme. The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well within teams. Time management, organisational skills, and data analysis are also requirements. You will be able to apply good judgement and take a creative approach to problem solving. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, online communications, and database use is required. You will have a flexible approach to your role and be willing to help the Emma Experience Director as need arises. Senior Porter
Full Time (40 hours)
Salary: £31,801 – £32,072 per annum depending on experience (plus 10% Unsociable Shift Allowance)
Emmanuel College is seeking to appoint a professional individual to help support the team within the Porters’ Lodge. The successful post holder will be experienced in supervising, motivating a team and have excellent customer service skills. The ability to be able to work flexibly as part of a busy team, demonstrate initiative and work with minimal supervision is essential.
The Porter’s Lodge is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and is the first point of contact for guests and visitors alike. The Senior Porter is responsible for, alongside the Head Porter and Deputy Head Porter, supervising and supporting Gate Porters to carry out their roles effectively. Responsibilities include organising shift schedules, providing support and guidance to students as necessary, assisting with security of college premises, fire safety, first aid, maintenance duties and dealing with enquiries by telephone, in person, by e-mail and by both internal and external post. The successful applicant will have the ability to manage a varied workload, demonstrate excellent customer service, IT skills, team leadership skills and demonstrate a calm, professional and courteous manner at all times. This is a customer-facing role with the Porters’ Lodge, being the first point of contact for all guests to the College.
The Senior Porter will work according to a rota and requires flexibility to cover periods of absence along with providing additional support for certain college events.
