What you’ll be doing Prepare financial statements for a wide range of fund structures to UK GAAP or IFRS standards Prepare periodical NAV packs or management accounting with full working papers for entities within the fund structure Completing bookkeeping Liaise with auditors in respect of the financial audit of client entities as required Work with Admin team to ensure that financial statements prepared are completed and signed off within client, statutory or regulatory deadlines Coach more junior members of staff in relation to day to day activities such as procedures and Client Reporting Attend client meetings in respect of accounting matters as required Assist with the creation and maintenance of client specific accounting procedures Assist with business unit’s ad-hoc projects as required Monitor own pending tray The ideal background for this role: Studying a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA or ACA part qualified) Direct experience of producing financial statements and/or management accounts Experience in producing financial statements and/or management to IFRS, UK GAAP or other appropriate standards for a range of entities Fund accounting experience and experience of dealing with audit requirements would be preferred Good knowledge and understanding of current industry legislation and regulation & working practices Detailed knowledge of UK GAAP or IFRS Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Working knowledge of an accounting software Detailed knowledge of LUX GAAP and knowledge of private equity or real estate fund’s structure would be preferred Fund accounting software knowledge would be preferred Role Location/Hybrid Schedule This role will be based in our Southampton office. Although the nature of most of the roles within Gen II cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is scope in some cases for a form of Agile Working. The different ways in which Agile Working can be undertaken is dependent on the demands and needs of the business, the office space available and the individual’s preferences and circumstances.
