Mechanical Engineer
Our manufacturing client based in Romsey is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding team.
Job Description
The primary role of the Mechanical Engineer will involve the fitting and fabrication of pipes via various techniques. A background in working with metal or plastic fabrication techniques would be preferred, although a fitting, high precision assembly or laminating background would also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Reading and understanding engineering drawings working to company specifications.
2. Constructing plastic pipe assemblies.
3. Fabricating, assembling, forming, reshaping, reworking, and repairing plastic products.
4. Marking out sheets and pipes using measuring and marking tools.
5. Assembling plastic components by using various welding and jointing techniques.
6. Carrying out weld testing and inspection.
Ideal Skills & Experience:
1. To come in at an Engineer level, our client is looking for someone who has completed a relevant apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications within mechanical engineering.
Salary/Hours/Benefits:
1. £30,000 - £38,000 - Overtime paid at Time 1/3 and in busy periods, you'd be expected to work an extra 5 hours per week.
2. 7.00 - 17.00 Monday to Thursday, 13.00 finish on Fridays (these hours include the 5 hours overtime per week).
3. Bonuses paid out 1-2 times per year (based on company performance).
