The School of Vocational and Technical Studies (VTS) at South Thames College is looking to appoint an experienced Lecturer in Media (Film) to deliver outstanding quality teaching, learning, assessment, and tutorial support to students to maximize achievement and continuous improvement.
You will deliver teaching and assessment activities within your area of specialism, including lectures, setting/marking coursework, practical activities, and fieldwork, and play a key role in supporting the development of the curriculum with employer engagement and learner skills development.
As our Lecturer, we would like you to hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in Media or a related field, hold a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one), and have recent teaching experience in Media in an FE College. With a strong working knowledge of the current framework for teaching, learning, assessment, and quality assurance, you will have a successful record of tutoring and supporting learners and of setting and implementing target setting, monitoring, and reviewing progress.
You will have strong evidence of outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment and of effective employer engagement in curriculum design and delivery, with the ability to work under pressure and to strict validating body deadlines. Able to use initiative, organize, and prioritize, you will be an effective verbal and written communicator in both group and interpersonal situations.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.
