Our client, a leading construction materials company, is looking for a Quality Assurance Inspector to join their team. You will be responsible for overseeing supplier deliveries and ensuring goods received are up to standards. You will also be conducting inspections, analysing results, reporting on any issues and supporting on the investigation of non-conformances.
The Role
As our QA Inspector you will oversee supplier deliveries upon receipt and ensure goods received are fit for purpose and as ordered. Coordinate supplier deliveries and drivers on site to ensure these are dealt with in a time efficient way and safety is a priority. The QA inspector monitors the quality of incoming and outgoing products and relevant inputs throughout the product life cycle. Conducting inspections, analysing results and reporting on issues of non-conformance and supporting investigation.
Responsibilities
1. Co-ordinate all bulk tankers within hours, ensuring the correct material, sampling & testing takes place. Complete tanker inspections and ensure Delivery Silo Record’s (DSR) are complete for permit requirements.
2. Ensure DSR process is followed by all tanker off loaders and notify issues as detected with the relevant departments, maintain relevant training materials and records.
3. Receive, book in, and inspect all palletised materials delivered to I-1, verifying the quality and specification of supplied goods – informing relevant departments of any discrepancies.
4. Complete and update the booking in system upon receipt of deliveries, checking delivery notes match orders placed & tracking down missing documentation.
5. Liaises with production and stock control with regards to deliveries or issues which may impact the order planning schedule.
6. Identify and raise non-conformities where product, quantity, specification, delivery or site rule failures are found & ensure all information required is included.
7. Raise supplier return notes and ensure pallets are labelled ready for collection.
8. Management of quarantine area and non-conforming products, ensuring control and quick resolution.
9. Complete inspections of pallets returned to site, to determine route; either returned to stock, skip, rework etc.
10. Carry out random weight checks on palletised deliveries for product and packaging compliance (packaging pieces, full pallets and finished goods).
11. Maintain documentation such as Packaging specifications, delivery notes standard folder, driver induction records & tank/silo information plan.
12. Complete a variety of QHSE inspections, such as pick face audits & finished goods inspections & record findings accurately. Where issues are found, work with the local teams to seek resolution.
13. Recording results of inspections & audits completed.
14. Support the QHSE Manager with the introduction of new products, quality systems, initiatives, tools and techniques.
15. Observance of all Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental System requirements & champion these topics with others.
16. Cover of functions & tasks within the QHSE Department as and when required.
Experience Required
* Proven Working knowledge of the principles of Quality Management.
* Commercial awareness and how quality performance and meeting standards effects the business.
* Ability to demonstrate credibility and confidence of skill set (people and product safety).
* Possess a flexible attitude and the ability to prioritise tasks appropriately.
