The Holroyd Community Theatre is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Events Manager to join our team on a maternity cover basis. As the Events Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind our successful events. Working hand-in-hand with the Creative Director, you’ll ensure every production, performance, and community event runs seamlessly. From logistics to leadership, marketing to technical support, you’ll play a pivotal role in making every event a triumph.
Job Outline and Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Creative Director to bring events from concept to reality, ensuring all requirements are met.
* Coordinate with external technical teams to guarantee smooth technical delivery of events.
* Partner with the estate’s team to manage event timelines, logistics, setup, and breakdown.
* Craft and implement hire contracts, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
* Support and lead our amazing volunteer team, including roles like ushering and merchandise sales.
* Champion our volunteer recruitment programme in line with Moreton Hall’s strategy and safeguarding protocols.
* Foster relationships with the local community, aligning events with the theatre’s mission and values.
* Build strong partnerships with event hirers, producers, and external collaborators.
* Identify opportunities for operational improvements to enhance event efficiency and profitability.
* Uphold safeguarding policies and serve as the designated staff member during events.
Additional Responsibilities
* Regularly review and update all policies and paperwork to stay current.
* Work with the finance team on creating invoices and costing sheets.
* Collaborate with teaching staff to support school events at the theatre.
* Provide technical support for events when possible.
* Liaise with the web designer to ensure accurate and timely event listings on the website.
* Handle audience inquiries, including ticket changes
* Attend quarterly advisory panel meetings.
Marketing & promotion
Drive our marketing efforts with support from the school’s marketing department, including:
* Posting and engaging on social media platforms.
* Keeping all social media assets and pages updated.
* Writing and distributing press releases.
* Maintaining and updating the website and LinkTree for all events.
* Designing and circulating “What’s On” flyers and leaflets.
* Keeping foyer posters fresh and up to date.
Person Specification
* Experience in event management, preferably in a theatre or performing arts venue.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organisational and event management skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Knowledge of basic computer software such as Excel, Word, Canva.
* Ability to work evenings and weekends when required.
This is a maternity cover position and provides an exciting opportunity to take on a dynamic, impactful role. An earlier start may be available depending on the circumstances.
