Job Overview
The Playground Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children during outdoor playtime. Duties include:
1. Supervising children on the playground
2. Setting up and organising play equipment
3. Monitoring and enforcing safety rules
4. Facilitating positive play interactions
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum requirements include:
1. Basic understanding of child development
2. Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff
3. Strong commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive play environment
4. Prior experience working with children in a similar setting is desirable
5. Knowledge of playground safety guidelines
6. Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
7. Excellent interpersonal skills
8. Proactive attitude towards ensuring a fun and engaging play experience for children
9. First Aid certification
The Playground Assistant will primarily work outdoors in various weather conditions, interacting with children, parents, and school staff. The role may require standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of play equipment.
