The Role
This is a permanent, full-time position. As the exhibition industry looks to spring back into life following the pandemic, our clients are hungry to get back to live events and as a result, we are looking to expand and add a Project Delivery Manager to the team.
The role will involve thinking on your feet, being extremely well organized, contributing to all aspects of the business, and taking ownership of everything you head up. The successful candidate will have a brilliant technical mind as well as experience in pre-site prep, aluminium frame building, and graphic tensioned systems. They will be commercially aware with up-to-date knowledge of materials, techniques, and solutions.
Based at our HQ, working closely with our design studio and contractors, the role requires an organized individual who works well under pressure and is willing to travel to sites in the UK and overseas to support the site team.
A full driving licence is essential.
Duties include:
1. Development, production, and delivery of projects from PO right up to delivery using industry skills, knowledge, and keen eye for detail delivering the project on time and to the customer's requirements.
2. Onsite build - Responsible for managing all sub-hire labour on build and breakdowns, ensuring the build is going to schedule and all equipment is there and issued to plan.
3. Onsite build - Reacting to any issues that arise whilst onsite and relaying back to the appropriate persons to form an action plan to resolve.
4. Onsite build - Ensure sub-hire labour follows HSS procedures, site-specific rules and report back and log any accidents/near misses.
5. Onsite build - Ensure all working areas are kept to a clean and professional standing at all times ensuring all labour is responsible for tidying duties before leaving site each day. To assist in cleaning duties as required.
6. Responsible for the successful delivery & sign off of exhibition projects.
7. Onsite build core/features - Monitor across multiple services, build plan, frames, flooring, furniture, visuals working with Event Manager to ensure all fit for show days.
8. Onsite build - Lead team to ensure all services and components are installed and correct prior to releasing sub-con labour. Constant quality control and assessment of project and highlighting potential problems and resolving before being picked up by customers.
9. Onsite build - Sign off block plans for HSS and ensure records are filed with Event Manager prior to open of show.
10. Onsite build - Sign off with customer during walkarounds and ensuring any snagging is completed to the required standards.
11. Onsite build - Supervise loading of trucks and ensure stock is loaded correctly and safely ensuring no damage is occurred.
12. Liaising with the wider projects & design team to ensure clear understanding of project challenges, material requirements, and timescales.
13. Liaising with the wider projects team understanding what projects are ongoing at any given time and what is coming up in order to facilitate personal commitments and to ensure all materials, labour, lodgements have been allocated accordingly.
14. The above duties may be expanded as the business needs change.
15. Prebuilding/Setting out of stands in the warehouse and ensuring prints are correct and fit the framework.
16. Working on site alongside subcontracted manpower to complete projects.
17. Setting, communicating, and maintaining timelines and priorities on every project.
18. Managing operational functions to ensure specific projects are delivered efficiently.
19. Ensuring excellent customer service and quality delivery.
20. Ability to read working drawings.
21. Working at height.
22. Construction of Exhibition Stands.
23. Working on modular and bespoke exhibition stands around the UK and Europe.
24. Manufacture/Refurbishing of custom elements.
25. Prebuilding/Setting out of stands in the warehouse.
26. Driving company vehicles to site.
27. Carrying out installation/removal work to a high standard.
Must have/be:
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Exhibition background with an ability to demonstrate both aluminium frame assembly and tensioned graphic installations.
* Able to work away - both around the UK and overseas (Passport Required)
* Experience of onsite installations
* Preferable - experience of managing people
