ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our workshop team in Sheffield. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that control panels manufactured on the production line meet established standards of quality and reliability.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will inspect, test, and evaluate control panels to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
Salary: up to £45k depending on skills and experience.

SUMMARY OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
_You will:_
Conduct visual and functional inspections of control panels to verify compliance with technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
Use measuring instruments, testing equipment, and inspection tools to assess control panel components and assemblies.
Perform electrical testing (point to point etc.) to ensure proper wiring, connections, and functionality of control panels.
Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, including test results, non-conformance reports, and corrective action documentation.
Prepare inspection reports summarising findings and recommendations in line with the template documentation.
Identify defects and potential issues in control panels and communicate findings to the production and engineering teams.
Collaborate with production staff to address and resolve quality issues promptly.
Recommend and support initiatives for process improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Participate in quality audits and contribute to the development and improvement of inspection procedures and standards.
Assist in training production staff on quality standards and inspection procedures.
Work flexibly to meet the demands of our workload, working overtime as required.
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS
_We are looking for:_
Experience and Knowledge
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in quality inspection
Manual dexterity to handle small components and inspection tools.
Full driving licence
Skills and Abilities
Good demonstrable ability to read and interpret panel drawings, schedules and specifications
Fast, neat worker
Good team leading skills
Good communication skills
