We have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Connect Plus Services (CPS) M25 London Orbital Motorway Project. This role can be based at our Leatherhead, South Mimms, or Dartford office locations.
CPS is a joint venture between Balfour Beatty, AtkinsRéalis, and Egis, responsible for operating and maintaining the M25. The M25 is Europe’s busiest motorway, requiring meticulous planning and management to deliver over £100m of annual infrastructure investment, alongside planned and reactive maintenance activities.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support senior members of the commercial team with varied duties, as well as take responsibility for procuring and administering supply chain agreements. You will actively seek to minimise project costs, enhance value for money, and maintain the required standards and quality for our customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
Some key responsibilities include:
* Adhering to the company’s GMCEs, BMS, and other governance procedures.
* Ordering information and systematically checking data.
* Measuring, recording, and valuing work independently in line with appropriate rules and procedures.
* Measuring and interpreting specifications and drawings.
* Building up estimates from first principles, including net and gross estimates.
* Preparing Bills of Quantities and Schedules of Rates from drawings and specifications.
* Reviewing weekly, monthly, and sectional programmes of works.
* Planning commercial activities to align with section programmes.
* Understanding and managing delay and disruption programmes.
* Using the company’s ERP system for commercial tasks.
* Collecting cost and value information and preparing reconciliation statements.
* Specifying procurement requirements and managing subcontractor agreements.
* Managing customer and stakeholder relationships for your area of responsibility.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for candidates with:
* Experience in the measurement and valuation of civil engineering work and reconciling to costs.
* A BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
* Membership of RICS, ICES, or a similar professional body (or working towards this qualification).

Location:
This is a hybrid role designed to fully maximize team collaboration on the project, we therefore expect a minimum of 60% of your time to be spent at a CPS office.
