The Opportunity
Our client is one of the leading Nuclear Engineering Consultancies in the UK, with projects across the country. From site decommissioning to radioactive waste management and transport, our client is embedded in some of the largest and most crucial projects in the Nuclear sector. Due to this, they are seeking a proven Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding team.

Please note that the successful candidate must be eligible for, or already hold, UK Security Clearance. Therefore, we are unable to consider candidates who are outside of the UK or have lived in the UK for less than 5 years and require VISA Sponsorship.
Remuneration and Benefits
You will receive an excellent salary package of £50,000 - £55,000 per annum, alongside this you will also be entitled to a wide range of benefits including 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), increasing with service up to 30 days, private medical insurance for you, your partner and family, non-contributory pension scheme plus many more!
The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will integrate with operational engineering multi-disciplines teams delivering projects at various phases, from FEED to commissioning, or in assistance to Plant Operation in the UK. This role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis. You will be working out of one of our clients' offices in either Abingdon, Warrington or Westlakes on a hybrid basis (2-3 days in the office).
Your Duties and Responsibilities
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be delivering and managing technical studies/projects, including:
1. Design of mechanical processes, from strategic and conceptual phases to detailed design and construction & commissioning phase support.
2. You will be responsible for the following deliverables:
* Technical notes
* Substantiation notes
* Mechanical flow diagrams and flow-sheets
* Mechanical drawings
* P&IDs
* Mechanical layout drawings
* Hazards and malfunctions management
* Technical specification documentation review from supply chain.
Qualifications & Experience
BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar subject or equivalent experience. It's great if you also have the following:
* Experience in the Nuclear sector is an advantage.
The Setting for the Role
Risks and hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licensed site. These can include nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gases, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high-pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
