The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity to be part of a multi-skilled team producing and supplying asphalt to the South East of England. Working within the team at Crawley Asphalt this role will encompass the following criteria.
You will control the fixed and mobile plant to produce asphalt while maintaining the highest standards of health and safety, quality, sustainability, efficiency & environmental awareness reporting to the site management. The role includes:
1. Weighbridge Operations: Internal Training Supplied - (Opportunities to be enrolled in an NVQ where applicable).
2. Controlling and managing the loading of vehicles via control system. Programming and scheduling of materials for production.
3. Entering data into the company’s Internal Management System.
4. Ensuring vehicle compliance to workplace transport plan requirements. Answering and making phone calls to relevant order offices.
5. Loading Shovel Operations: External Training Supplied - (Opportunities to be enrolled in an NVQ where applicable).
6. Completion and recording of pre-start inspections via the company’s digital system.
7. Reporting any defective equipment in a timely manner to the management team.
8. Monitoring of aggregate stocking levels and Feeding material into the asphalt plant.
9. Driving in accordance with the site workplace transport plan to maintain a high level of vehicle safety on site.
10. Efficiently operating machinery to reduce costs and emissions to the environment.
11. Mixing Operation: Internal Training Supplied – (Opportunities to be enrolled in an NVQ where applicable).
12. Conduct mixing of asphalt product to BSI:9001 specification and within Aggregate Industries specifications to ensure our customers are supplied with a premium product.
13. Completion and recording of pre-start inspections via the company’s digital system.
14. Identifying, recording and reporting defective fixed plant equipment.
15. Support maintenance teams with maintaining and monitoring the condition of fixed plant equipment.
16. Utilisation of the control system to control fixed plant equipment.
